Dead Horse Bay
the rain came and went
collections we’ve spent
on beautiful trash
and we never looked back
the trees took over
the windows and doors
stone houses, brick bunkers, cement floors
they grew inside of me and you
eating away at everything we knew
i peeled back bark from your eyes
and listened to what they said
they’re taking over, they’re getting in
